Once per fight on a successful hit, Adjutants may place an immediate consequence on their opponent of “Infected” in addition to any normal damage. Only the lowest available consequence will be used. Once infected the target will suffer from an Skill 3, Weapon 4 attack every 10 minutes resisted by their Endurance Skill. Eventually they will succumb to the Adjutant’s DNA and become Adjutants themselves.

Can ignore darkness aspects, except for aspects coming from the complete absence of light (such as Pitch Black).

BIOTICS (-1 Refresh)

  • Lift
    The use of mass-lowering fields to lift light inanimate objects up to one zone away. This doesn’t include fine manipulations such as picking a lock or writing nor does it include lifting another being. The character can manipulate small hand held objects remotely. The shifts generated with a Biotics skill roll determine the number of exchanges the character can manipulate the object.
  • Biotic Punch
    By enhancing their punches with Power a Biotic can slam a target with great force. This allows them to use their Biotics Skill to make an unarmed attack.

BARRIER -1

The barrier provides a pool of points (1 per shift in a Biotics skill roll) which are used up by incoming stress damage. So, a 6-point Shield can withstand a total of 6 points of stress before dissipating. This damage is applied by filling up the pool instead of ticking off the correct box as is the case with normal Stress Tracks.

CHARGED BIOTIC FIELD -1

This effect only works on targets whose shields are down. Make an attack on an opponent as normal. If successful the target’s has an aspect placed on them like “Stunned or Disoriented” that can be tagged as normal. The target also suffers from a Block to all actions equal to the shifts generated by the Field. The Charged Biotic Field will last until the beginning of the Adjutant’s next Turn.

Bio:

“Adjutant” is the Cerberus codename for the experimental subjects created at a secret facility beyond the Omega-4 relay. The creatures are based on Reaper technology, and the adjutants encountered on Omega have the ability to infect any life-form to create a new adjutant.

Adjutants are deadly pack hunters. They initially remain hidden, observing potential victims and distracting them with subtle whispers. When they select a target, adjutants ambush them with charged projectiles that create a violently unstable mass effect field that causes severe disorientation and renders the target helpless. Enhanced muscle tissue gives adjutants the ability to leap surprising distances, allowing them to close in and infect their target quickly.

The baseline form of the being does not match any known species. Xenobiologists suspect that Reapers may have originally created and implemented the virus several cycles before the Prothean extinction and that it still carries genetic traces of its original host. If this is true, then like the Collectors, adjutants are a glimpse into the distant past at a species whose very existence — and struggle against the Reapers — has long been forgotten.
