Nova is a close-range shock wave power which utilizes the Vanguard’s high-risk, high-reward combat system. While expending the remainder of your biotic barrier, Nova inflicts a high amount of damage to surrounding enemies, and even pushing them back and sending them soaring into the air. There is no cooldown—it can be used whenever the Vanguard has barrier remaining.

Nova requires a Biotic to have Barrier. Activating Nova with a Biotics skill roll versus a target’s Athletics causes damage equal to the points remaining in the Barrier Pool fully draining it. A successful strike also knocks the target down placing a “knocked prone” Aspect on them. The cool down caused by Barrier has no effect on using Nova.

STUNTS

  • Blast Radius
    This blast targets all targets in the same zone as the biotic forcing them to make a defense roll.
  • Power Recharge/Half Blast
    This allows the biotic to put only half the remaining amount of points from his Barrier pool into the Nova attack. It only does half damage though. Because there is no cool down penalty for Nova the biotic could use this power in consecutive turns.
  • Piercing Attack
    Armor and Barriers are only half as effective against this attack.
